Congratulations to all the finalists and prizewinners!

The Finalists of the 2014 RMP ARIA will battle it out for the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of cash, professional photography packages, language coaching and various other prizes – as well as future engagements with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic.

The 2014 finalists are:

• Joelene Griffith 27 lyric coloratura soprano (b. Sydney NSW, resides Sydney)
• Michael Lampard 28 baritone (b. Hobart TAS, resides Melbourne)
• Esiter Morgan 25, soprano (b. Nuku’alofa TONGA, resides Melbourne)
• Daniel Carison 21 bass baritone (b. Melbourne VIC, resides Melbourne)
• Maximilian Riebl 23 counter tenor (b. Melbourne VIC, resides Melbourne)
• Alissa Andraski 27 lyric coloratura soprano (b. Wausau WI USA, resides Melbourne)
• Jeremy Kleeman 23 bass baritone (b. Melbourne VIC , resides Melbourne)

Reserve Finalist:
• Elizabeth Lewis 26 Mezzo Soprano (b.South Brisbane QLD, resides Melbourne)

Each singer will perform a short program of arias and recitatives from the world of oratorio, accompanied on piano by outstanding pianist and RMP Principal Accompanist Stefan Cassomenos. A distinguished panel of judges will decide over $4000.00 worth of cash prizes, as well as other awards including language coaching and professional photographic packages and future performance opportunities with the RMP.

Judging the 2014 Aria will be leading Australian mezzo  Sally-Anne Russell, Professor Mel Waters, accompanist Stefan Cassomenos and  RMP Chief Conductor Andrew Wailes.  Peter Bandy will be MC for the evening.

At the end of the Final, Andrew Wailes will conduct a full scale performance of Mozart’s Requiem, featuring over 150 voices of the RMP Oratorio Festival Choir, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra and a quartet of outstanding soloists – all previous finalists of the RMP Aria: Emily Uhlrich (soprano), Lotte Betts Dean (mezzo soprano), Daniel Todd (tenor), Nicholas Dinopoulous (bass baritone).

Tickets include a free champagne reception at the conclusion of the evening, where audience members have the chance to meet the finalists, adjudicators, orchestra, choir and conductor.
